A shoutout to the Rocky Hall Community Association for installing two water tanks in the BBQ area! This informal gathering space is not just a spot for locals to connect and organise community events, but it also welcomes visitors to enjoy it.
The Mumbulla Community Foundation is proud to have supported the construction of the tank stands. We love the stonework and the project name, “Watering the Masses.”
Well done Headspace Bega for organising “Take a Step Day,” which provided a culturally safe and supportive space for young First Nations people to come together, build relationships, and discuss social and emotional well-being. More than 40 young First Nations students participated from local high schools, along with service providers, Elders, and community members.
Key event highlights:
First Nations Leadership: The event was led by a First Nations guest speaker and an all-Indigenous panel who spoke on social and emotional wellbeing, sharing their experiences and cultural wisdom with the youth.
Cultural Connection: The day reinforced cultural identity and connection by providing a platform for young people to share their stories in smaller, more intimate yarning circles, creating a safe space for self-expression.
Resilience and Recovery: In the aftermath of the Black Summer Bushfires, this event was essential in supporting the recovery and emotional wellbeing of young Aboriginal people, fostering resilience through connection to culture and community.
Mumbulla Community Foundation has awarded 36 Continuing Education Scholarships this year!
We have worked closely with our local Bendigo Bank group for over four years to boost funding for educational scholarships in the Bega Valley. During this time, collaborating with a local private donor and our wonderful colleagues at the Social Justice Advocates Of The Sapphire Coast. Our local Bendigo Bank Pambula and District team have helped Mumbulla Community Foundation secure over $100,000 to support this important program.
Congratulations to all recipients!
This scholarship is not just a financial award; it is a recognition of hard work, sacrifices, and unwavering belief in the value of education.
