2023 Continuing Education Scholarships Awards

✨One of the three key strategies of Mumbulla Community Foundation is to “Support, Enable and Back Individuals and Organisations”.
Mumbulla Community Foundation, through the generous support of our local Bendigo Bank and Community Enterprise Foundation, has recently been in the privileged position to award 41 Continuing Education Scholarships – valued at $1,000 each, to our community across the Bega Valley.
We awarded scholarships to a wide variety of scholars, ranging in age from 17 to 66, from all over the Bega Valley, for courses in technical, university, “micro-credentials” (short professional courses) to post-graduate qualifications.
Thirty-six of our recipients were female; for a reason we do not understand, we only had five male recipients.
🍀We wish all our applicants and recipients great success in the future.

Completing a Bachelor of Nursing is an enormous commitment as you are required to complete 800 hours of clinical placements. Being in a regional area, I have had to travel out of the local area to complete a placement for 2 weeks or 4 weeks at a time. I have previously travelled to Moruya and Milton, and my next placement in September 2023 will require me to travel to Sydney for 4 weeks. This scholarship will go towards travel expenses and will be a huge financial help. I am very grateful to the organisations and people who contribute towards the Mumbulla Scholarships, as it makes it possible for local students like myself to continue their studies and achieve their goals.

2023 Continuing Education Scholarship Recipient

Helen Robinson

I’d like to thank the Mumbulla Foundation for accepting me as a recipient of the Continuing Education Scholarship in 2022. This generosity will allow me to further progress in my studies of engineering and commerce, as well as assist in the development of my entrepreneurial projects. I am now finishing off my second year of a five-year double degree in mechatronic engineering and financial management which have been quite a cost intensive in terms of the software packages, electrical components, and textbooks. The scholarship will primarily be assisting in the subsidising of computer hardware components which will help in ensuring I can run the necessary coding and design programs efficiently and effectively. I appreciate all that has been done.
