Continuing Education Scholarships
For residents of the Bega Valley ShireKeeping education within reach in the Bega Valley
Mumbulla Community Foundation’s Continuing Education Scholarships help remove the financial barriers that can push study out of reach in a regional area. From course fees and exam costs to tools, uniforms, laptops, software, internet, transport, and even childcare, support is tailored to the practical needs that keep people learning. When life throws a curveball, scholarships help students stay enrolled and on track. The result is simple: more locals can learn, qualify, and contribute to a stronger Bega Valley.
Backing local people at every stage of learning
These scholarships back people you may know – school leavers heading to TAFE, apprenticeships, or university; workers retraining after industry change; and parents and carers returning to study across health, trades, tourism, care, community services, small business, and more. An independent local panel assesses need, motivation, and impact, ensuring funds go where they’ll make the biggest difference. Whether it’s help with petrol to reach a placement, safety gear for an apprentice, or a laptop and internet for remote study, your gift is put to work with care and transparency.
Your support stays local
Every dollar stays in the Bega Valley. You can make a one off donation for immediate impact, become a monthly supporter for steady year round help, contribute through your workplace, or partner as a business with sponsorships, matched gifts, or in kind support. Whether it’s $50 for materials or $1,000 toward a year of study, your generosity keeps opportunity close to home—so locals don’t have to leave to learn, work, and thrive.
All donations are tax-deductible. A Tax Receipt will be issued recognising your contribution.
Thank you for your support!

I’d like to thank the Mumbulla Foundation for accepting me as a recipient of the Continuing Education Scholarship in 2022. This generosity will allow me to further progress in my studies of engineering and commerce, as well as assist in the development of my entrepreneurial projects. I am now finishing off my second year of a five-year double degree in mechatronic engineering and financial management which have been quite a cost intensive in terms of the software packages, electrical components, and textbooks. The scholarship will primarily be assisting in the subsidising of computer hardware components which will help in ensuring I can run the necessary coding and design programs efficiently and effectively. I appreciate all that has been done.
This scholarship is not only a huge help for me but also a meaningful investment in the community of Bega Valley. My aim is to leverage this advanced education to make a positive impact on local healthcare. As a current paramedic, I am dedicated to enhancing my skills and knowledge to better serve and support ourcommunity. I believe that this advanced training will be instrumental in achieving that goal. Thank you once again for your support and belief in my future. I am inspired by the Mumbulla Foundation’s commitment to encouraging educational growth and community development, and I am honored to be a recipient of this scholarship.
Completing a Bachelor of Nursing is an enormous commitment as you are required to complete 800 hours of clinical placements. Being in a regional area, I have had to travel out of the local area to complete a placement for 2 weeks or 4 weeks at a time. I have previously travelled to Moruya and Milton, and my next placement in September 2023 will require me to travel to Sydney for 4 weeks. This scholarship will go towards travel expenses and will be a huge financial help. I am very grateful to the organisations and people who contribute towards the Mumbulla Scholarships, as it makes it possible for local students like myself to continue their studies and achieve their goals.

Mumbulla Community Foundation has collaborated with our local Bendigo Bank group for four years to significantly boost funding for educational scholarships in the Bega Valley. This impactful partnership, combined with the generosity of a local private donor and the support of our colleagues at the Social Justice Advocates, has enabled the Mumbulla Community Foundation to secure over $100,000 for this vital program in the past four years.
We firmly believe that investing in our community’s education and development is one of the most meaningful ways to create positive, long-lasting change. Please watch the short video below
