🎉 Celebrating Our Chair, Mick Pryke — Bega Valley Senior Citizen of the Year!

Mumbulla Community Foundation is delighted to celebrate our Chair, Mick Pryke, who has been named Bega Valley Senior Citizen of the Year — a well‑deserved recognition of his extraordinary commitment to community.

For more than a decade, Mick and his wife Nellie have dedicated themselves to strengthening the Bega Valley through tireless volunteering. Mick brings deep experience, generous energy, and a remarkable ability to listen, connect, and create opportunities for others. His leadership is grounded in humility and a genuine belief in the power of community.

As Chair of Mumbulla Community Foundation, Mick provides strong governance, fresh ideas, and access to multiple sources of grant funding that directly benefit local people and organisations. He has also been involved with the Board in establishing the Bega Valley Women’s Giving Circle initiative, which is supporting community‑minded women to pool their skills and resources to uplift local comminty starting with women and young people.


Mick’s contribution extends well beyond MCF. He serves as a Director of the Cobargo Community Development Corporation, supporting the long‑term rebuild of Cobargo following the Black Summer bushfires. He is also a Director with Southern Cross Housing, where he contributes governance and strategic direction to support safe, secure, and affordable housing across the region.

Everything Mick does is anchored in service. His passion for helping others, building community, and strengthening local resilience makes him one of the most community‑minded people in the Bega Valley. His leadership continues to inspire those around him and create lasting impact.
