The Mumbulla Community Foundation recently hosted a truly special event — the Women’s Collaborative Consultation: A High Tea with Heart at the beautiful Tathra Surf Club.
We gathered a diverse group of community-minded women from across the Bega Valley to explore the exciting idea of launching a Philanthropic Women’s Giving Circle — a powerful initiative designed to unite women’s skills, passions, and resources to tackle local needs and create lasting change.
A Day of Connection and Possibility
The room was alive with energy, meaningful conversations, and a deep sense of connection. Women shared openly, feeling heard, engaged, and inspired by the possibility of collective giving.
The feedback? Overwhelmingly positive. There’s a clear appetite for women in the Bega Valley to come together, collaborate, and make a local impact.
Key Highlights from the Day:
✅ Discussed the potential of establishing a Women’s Giving Circle in the Bega Valley
✅ Identified key local issues and areas where collective giving could make a difference
✅ Shared opportunities, hopes, and ideas for women’s collective action
✅ Asked the big questions about shaping this movement for lasting impact
We are incredibly grateful to all the women who attended and contributed their voices, ideas, and enthusiasm to this important conversation.
This is just the beginning. The seeds have been planted — and together, we’re growing something extraordinary.

Over the past year, Cobargo Food Tool Library has been buzzing with activity, delivering a fantastic series of nine hands-on workshops. From preserving and fermenting local produce to the art of spit roasting a lamb, there’s been something for everyone!
A total of 116 enthusiastic participants joined in 9 sessions over a 12-month period.
It was reported that the sessions were fun and participants learned valuable skills like fermenting, canning, pickling, and milling grains while gaining confidence in using tools from the Tool Library. Designed to be inclusive, the workshops catered to both seasoned foodies and beginners and instilled a sense of accomplishment and confidence for home experimentation.
Another workshop on fermenting is coming soon, so stay tuned, follow, and support the Triangle Tool Library. The local volunteers there are doing a fabulous job and members can borrow all sorts of useful tools, including kitchen appliances !
Thank you, Heather Anderson for an awesome report, and well done on this project.

We are happy to share the heart-warming journey of The Songcrafters project, an incredible collaboration between Jamie Forbes from Theatre Onset and Nick Keeling from Merimbula School of Music.
It is an ongoing project to develop an original musical that we eagerly anticipate seeing come to life in the Bega Valley, and Mumbulla Community Foundation is proud to have contributed a starting grant.
Featuring a vibrant youth cast, primarily composed of high school students and even younger participants in some roles, this project offers them a unique opportunity to shine and grow. The experience will provide invaluable skills in collaboration, creativity, and performance
As we approach 2025, our excitement grows. Stay tuned for updates!
